Who we are

Good Run Productions is an Australian film production company focused on restrained, character-driven stories that explore intimacy, control and humanity within contemporary social realities and regional landscapes.

Our work is rooted in the specificity of place, the textures of rural Australia, the silences between people, the weight of what goes unsaid. We believe in cinema that asks something of its audience, and trusts them to meet it.

Based on the Gold Coast and working across documentary and narrative fiction, we are committed to telling distinctly Australian stories with the ambition and craft to travel internationally.

Stay

An upcoming Australian feature written and directed by Indy Davies, currently in pre-production with a planned shoot in the Scenic Rim, Queensland. A slow cinema drama in the tradition of Warwick Thornton, Kelly Reichardt and Wim Wenders, Stay follows a taciturn farmer whose refusal to let go of his cattle dog, the last thing tethering him to the woman he loves, brings him to the edge of everything he has left.

The Big Grey Film

The Big Grey Film follows filmmaker Indy Davies into the heart of Australia's greyhound racing industry, a world of family legacy, quiet whistleblowers, and thousands of dogs whose fates hang between love and commerce. It begins personally, with the adoption of an ex-racer named Georgie, and expands into something larger: a portrait of an industry at a crossroads, and a country still working out what it owes the animals it has made.
